Partner Veterinary is looking for an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to join our Richmond, VA team! Partner Veterinary provides Veterinary Assistants with tuition support to an accredited Veterinary Technician program and mentorship to pass the VTNE To set you up for success from day 1, We gift you a wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This includes 30-40 hours of extra time off dependent upon your weekly schedule. Partner Veterinary recognizes the demand that is on veterinary team members, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days. What does your day look like at Partner and Internal Medicine? At Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC), IMED Veterinary Assistant’s emphasis is on patient & client care, appointments, ultrasounds, and participate in anesthetic procedures. At PVESC, Veterinary Assistants learn and refine specialized skills to care for a chronically ill patient population while building relationships with our pet families and referring community. Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes: Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level Ample fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and monitoring equipment to enable quality patient care Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year veterinary assistant experience
- Knowledge and dedication to high standard patient care practices
- A curious and motivated energy
- Interest in collaborating with the teams across the Partner network
- Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
- Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
- Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
