🐾 Veterinary Assistant – Flex Role (Appointments + Surgery Support) Do you love variety in your day, working closely with patients, and being part of a truly supportive team? Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced, compassionate Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join us in a flex role that supports both our appointment flow and our surgery team. Requirements
- Veterinary Assistant experience is REQUIRED
- Comfort working in both appointments and surgery settings
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Calm, compassionate, and patient-focused mindset
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to safely lift and restrain animals
- Able to work one weekend day but we have consistent schedules
Responsibilities
- Assist doctors and technicians during exams and treatments
- Safely and confidently restrain patients
- Prep and reset exam rooms
- Support client communication and patient histories
- Perform basic lab work and treatments (as trained)
- Keep our clinic clean, organized, and running smoothly
- Help set up surgical and dental suites
- Prepare, organize, and maintain surgical packs
- Clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments
- Assist with patient recovery and monitoring
- Help keep patients comfortable post-procedure
- Clean and reset procedure rooms
- Manage surgical laundry and supply organization
- Be a reliable extra set of hands for our surgery techs
- Reviewing discharge instructions with clients
