Requirements

The right candidate must be friendly, outgoing and people oriented.
Must be a self-motivated team player who is attentive to detail, effective at oral and written communication, and demonstrates strong technical skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in veterinary clinics, shelters, or animal hospitals
Understanding of basic veterinary terminology
Experience with safe animal restraint and behavior recognition
Strong communication skills for client and team interactions
Ability to perform triage-style patient prioritization under technician or DVM direction

Responsibilities

Must be available for holidays and weekends.
Must be able to withstand long periods of standing and fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and assist with restraining and handling animals of all sizes.
Must be comfortable working with dogs, cats, and other species as required by the center.
Must be able to follow veterinary medical protocols, including safe restraint, medication administration support, and basic treatment assistance.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to odors, chemicals, noise, animal dander, and bodily fluids.
Must be comfortable supporting technicians and doctors in exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery prep, and diagnostic procedures.
Must be able to take accurate patient notes, assist in medical record documentation, and communicate patient status clearly.
Must be able to perform basic animal care tasks, such as nail trims, weight checks, ear cleaning, bathing, and collecting samples (with training).
Must be able to assist in cleaning, disinfecting, laundry, and restocking to maintain a sanitary clinical environment.
Must be able to maintain professional, calm, and compassionate behavior with clients and pets during stressful situations.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to shifting priorities throughout the day.
Must be willing to learn and follow center SOPs, safety guidelines, and patient handling standards.
Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor areas as needed (curbside assistance, patient transfers, etc.).
