About The Position

VCA Ark Animal Hospital is growing, and we’re excited to welcome a full-time Veterinary Assistant to our dedicated and compassionate team! Schedule: Full-time | 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift Compensation: $18–$24/hour (based on skill set and relevant hospital experience). About the Role As a key member of our Patient Care Team , you’ll support our doctors and technicians in delivering exceptional medical care and an outstanding client experience. This role requires a minimum of 9 months of hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting.

Requirements

• This role requires a minimum of 9 months of hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic procedures such as blood draws, fecal exams, and cytology preparation
• Placing IV catheters and administering medications via multiple routes
• Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgical preparation and recovery
• Assisting with dental cleanings and dental radiographs
• Supporting DVMs during exams and medical procedures
• Educating clients and providing clear discharge instructions
• Accurately documenting patient care in electronic medical records
• Supporting hospital workflow and patient comfort throughout the day
