Located in the heart of Old City, our team is led by board-certified veterinary dermatologist Dr. Britt Levy, DACVD, and united by a shared commitment to solving even the most complex dermatologic challenges. From common allergies to advanced therapies such as cryotherapy, electrocautery, and Fluorescent Light Energy Therapy (PHOVIA), we bring expertise, curiosity, and a touch of love to every case. We’re looking for a confident, highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our small but mighty team! Whether your background is in general practice, emergency or you’ve already worked in specialty medicine, this is a unique opportunity to take your skills to the next level in a state-of-the-art hospital designed for learning, teamwork, and excellence. In this role, you’ll work as a Veterinary Assistant rotating across a range of support areas including owning both "front of house" and "back of house" responsibilities. You’ll be trained and supported to grow your technical confidence in a fast-paced, well-resourced specialty environment.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in GP, ER, or specialty
  • Experience with practice management software, (ezyVet is our in-house platform)
  • Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
  • Dedication to excellent service for each client and patient and respect for coworkers
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and the desire to help build something new

Responsibilities

  • Maintain pristine exam rooms and a well-organized pharmacy to support a safe, high-standard clinical environment.
  • Accurately fill, label, and co-sign medications in partnership with the clinical team.
  • Prepare treatment and procedure spaces in advance and reset them afterward to keep the day moving seamlessly.
  • Proactively review upcoming appointments to confirm required records and rabies compliance, coordinating with referring veterinarians as needed.
  • Ensure diagnostic reports are downloaded, organized, and ready for doctor review so appointments run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Prepare and portion prescription medications (including customized ear treatments) to ensure accurate dosing and a smooth client experience at checkout.
  • Welcome clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, guiding them through check-in, capturing new patient photos, and obtaining accurate weights to support clinical care.
  • Serve as the first voice of the practice answering phones with confidence, empathy, and clarity.
  • Manage incoming medical questions and prescription requests, accurately documenting and categorizing them in ezyVet to keep the clinical team organized and responsive.
  • Monitor and respond to client emails and voicemails promptly, ensuring no request falls through the cracks.
  • Process online pharmacy requests (Chewy, Vetsource), routing approvals appropriately and maintaining seamless communication with the medical team.
  • Guide clients through checkout with efficiency and care, scheduling follow-up visits and reinforcing next steps.
