About The Position

Veterinary Assistant We’re hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our growing animal hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant (technician), you will assist the doctor with medical procedures, while under their direct supervision. You will help create positive, lasting impressions and build trust and loyalty with clients and their pets. Provide written and verbal communication to client regarding their pet’s care including answering any questions they may have, helping to educate them on treatments, and gaining their consent for treatment plans. Deliver WOW customer service to clients and their pet. Manage medical records through practice management software. Dispense medication, perform x-rays, perform blood draws, place catheters, obtain samples, provide treatments, run diagnostic equipment, administer vaccines, and provide animal restraint when necessary. Set-up, breakdown, cleaning, and maintaining of medical equipment. Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.

Requirements

  • Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly friends with calm and compassion
  • Have strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Be a certified veterinary technician (preferred)
  • Associate degree in veterinary assisting (preferred)
