Requirements

  • 1+ year of veterinary experience preferred (assistant or technician-level)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of animal handling, clinical workflows, and patient care standards
  • Excellent communication skills—both with clients and internal team members
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and perform under pressure
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout shifts
  • Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to zoonotic diseases

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting in surgery, dental procedures, or anesthesia monitoring
  • Familiarity with lab work, radiology, or inpatient care
  • Credentialed or pursuing credentialing (RVT/LVT/CVT strongly encouraged)

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective patient handling and restraint for a variety of species and temperaments
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Administer medications and support pharmacy and prescription fulfillment
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across the hospital treatment area
  • Deliver attentive care for boarding patients, ensuring comfort and well-being
  • Support diagnostics, treatment plans, and daily hospital operations
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure seamless patient care
  • Take initiative on projects and contribute to a high-functioning clinical team
