About The Position

As part of the Innovetive Petcare family, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis . This is a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule based on hospital needs. We anticipate: 2–3 days per week Options may include: 2 full days + 1 half day , or 3 half days Schedule may evolve as we approach the summer months Hospital Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 2 Saturday's a Month, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM ✅ Closed on major holidays

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician required
  • Hands-on surgical experience preferred (catheter placement, blood draws, anesthesia monitoring, surgical support)
  • Licensure (LVT, RVT, CVT) preferred but not required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Familiarity with veterinary software/EMR systems
  • Strong technical and clinical skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities
  • A team-oriented, positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Adaptable, dependable, and eager to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary technology or animal science education is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Administer medications and monitor patient health
  • Assist veterinarians during exams and treatments
  • Assist with x-rays, lab work, and in-house diagnostics
  • Prepare and process lab samples
  • Set up and maintain sterile surgical environments
  • Monitor anesthesia and support surgical procedures
  • Assist with pre- and post-operative patient care
  • Provide clear discharge instructions and aftercare guidance
  • Educate clients on preventative care, nutrition, and wellness
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
  • Support inventory and treatment tracking
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation of all clinical areas
  • Maintain and monitor equipment functionality
