About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinarian Hospitalist to join our leading-edge hospital to provide medical oversight to a variety of hospitalized veterinary patients at our hospital in Christiana, DE. Base salary up to $130,000.00 Additional earning potential through quarterly production bonus (NO negative accrual) As a Veterinarian Hospitalist you will: Diagnose and treat animals with illnesses and injuries. Evaluate patient status, make timely treatment and diagnostic plans/orders, administer medications, interpret diagnostic test results, communicate effectively with the pet owner/client and primary care veterinarian, and collaborate on patient care with other veterinarians within the practice. Dress animal wounds and treats animals with fractures. Write prescriptions for sick animals. Complete appropriate documentation and request referrals from other specialists as needed. Serve as a hospital leader in establishing a pleasant, engaging, and professional work environment. About BluePearl, Christiana: Our 20,000 square foot hospital is equipped with advanced suites and technology to provide Located in Christiana, we serve the entire Delmarva region, including Wilmington, Newport, Stanton and Newark Plus compassionate care for pets. Separate dog and cat waiting areas. Expanded ICU with 24-hour monitoring. On-site CT scanner for detailed imaging. I-131 radioactive iodine treatment for cats with hyperthyroidism. Surgical suite offering life-changing procedures like total hip replacement surgery. We have a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center with both land and hydrotherapy/underwater treadmills. For the humans, we have a large conference room for onsite meetings and Continuing Education events. Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree required.
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
