Veteran Health Coach (Peer) – Group Facilitator
About The Position
XRHealth is seeking a Veteran Health Coach with lived military experience to provide group support and coaching to Veterans in a virtual care environment. This role will serve as both a peer and a coach, using lived experience and health coaching techniques to support Veterans in improving mental health, physical health, and overall wellness. The Veteran Health Coach will lead virtual Veteran groups, support engagement and behavior change, and work closely with the community team at XRHealth. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting fellow Veterans and helping them navigate health, wellness, and life transitions. This is a remote, part-time position currently with an opportunity to scale hours in the future.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. military Veteran (required – lived experience required)
- 2+ years of experience in peer support, health coaching, wellness coaching, or group facilitation
- Experience leading groups, workshops, or support groups
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with Veteran populations
- Comfortable working in a virtual/remote environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team
- Experience supporting individuals through behavior change, motivational interviewing, and goal-setting
- Comfortable using digital tools, telehealth platforms, and electronic documentation systems
Nice To Haves
- Certified Health Coach, Wellness Coach, or similar certification
- Experience working with Veteran populations, VA systems, or military communities
- Experience working in healthcare or digital health
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
- Interest in VR, digital therapeutics, and innovative healthcare technology
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate virtual Veteran support and health coaching groups
- Provide peer support and encouragement based on lived military experience
- Support Veterans in goal-setting related to health, wellness, and behavior change
- Encourage engagement and ongoing participation in XRHealth programs
- Document group sessions and patient interactions in accordance with program and compliance requirements
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision as required
