About The Position

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Summary: Prepares and cooks family style meals for employees/crew by performing the following duties: Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs): Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served. Bakes breads and pastry. Cuts meat. Plans menu taking advantage of foods in season and local availability. Serves meals. Orders supplies and keeps records and accounts. Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. Mains a clean working environment. Responsible for cleaning kitchen and all dishes daily. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Needs appropriate food handler's permit.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
