Oceaneering Marine Services Division (MSD) has over 30 years of experience providing full-service submarine and surface ship repairs supporting maintenance and alterations aboard commercial and U.S. military vessels. We are SUBSAFE and DDS-SOC certified and perform high-consequence maintenance on assets that operate in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Master in operating the vessel in compliance with applicable regulations and company requirements, ensuring safety of life at sea, vessel security, and protection of the marine environment.
  • Complies with the Company Code of Conduct and all supporting policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensures all engineering and maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with state, class, flag, client, and company requirements, including the timely reporting of accidents, incidents, and hazardous occurrences.
  • Plans, organizes, and executes engineering operations to support safe, efficient, and reliable vessel operations.
  • Ensures preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out on all vessel machinery, systems, and equipment to maintain operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains responsibility for vessel power generation and essential services, including propulsion, electrical power, HVAC, refrigeration, water, sewage, and related mechanical and electrical systems, radio and navigational equipment.
  • Performs and oversees maintenance and repairs to main engines, auxiliary machinery, pumps, motors, winches, steering gear, anchor windlass, lifeboat engines, and associated systems.
  • Monitors, tests, and evaluates machinery and equipment performance to identify malfunctions, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintains engineering spaces in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, with particular attention to housekeeping standards and clear escape routes.
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records, equipment certification, and engineering department documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering, maintenance, and safety systems.
  • Participates in operational meetings to review recent activities, plan upcoming operations, and coordinate equipment, personnel, and logistical requirements for the next 24 to 72 hours and beyond.
  • Communicates work progress, operational status, and outstanding issues clearly and accurately at the end of each shift and at the end of each hitch.
  • Assists with the preparation of engineering and maintenance budgets and provides technical input to management as requested.
  • Participates in emergency preparedness activities, including drills and exercises, in accordance with vessel and company requirements.
  • Performs vessel maintenance and repair activities as required
