About The Position

Ventures & Investments Student Analyst ASU RealmSpark acts as the venture capital arm of ASU and invests in charter-aligned sectors. It finds the best technology on the market and brings it to the university. It also sources the most promising ASU-affiliated companies and brings them to market. The Ventures & Investments Student Analyst will be responsible for helping advance many of the initiatives within the RealmSpark team with a focus on investments and ventures, such as ASU ScaleU (ASU’s EdTech Accelerator), ASU InvestU (ASU’s Angel Investment Network) and all other investment/venture functions. Responsibilities include conducting robust due diligence and data analysis, process development activities, designing and implementing a pilot management and company onboarding program, helping source deal flow, supporting business development, and interacting with the current team to create proposals and reports for senior management. This year-round position will require approximately 20 hours per week, with additional availability during the non-school year. Students that are limited to summer availability may also be considered. What you’ll do: Supports venture acceleration and other initiatives including company research and due diligence, refining pipeline processes for company onboarding, developing, and implementing company pilot programs across the university, reporting, and documentation Improves efficiency of internal and external investment reporting through the creation of dashboards and other automated procedures to improve current process flow Aggregates data across the greater startup ecosystem used for investment analytics to draw decisions and improve processes As final deliverables, compiles research briefs, recommendations, and process maps/diagrams for leadership Prepares and organizes legal documents, process maps/diagrams, and communications related to EP’s ventures, and other stakeholders Sources ASU-affiliated investment opportunities from students, alumni, faculty, staff, and affiliated programs by collaborating with internal and external partners and leveraging research tools such as LinkedIn and PitchBook Evaluates company applications, participates in screening calls, and prepares preliminary investment scorecards to support the deal flow and due diligence process Supports planning and operations for in-person and virtual pitch events and networking events Other projects and duties as assigned What you’ll need: Growth mindset: willing and driven to learn and develop skills to add value to the RealmSpark team Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone with senior members of organizations Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects Mastery of Microsoft Excel Ability to quickly learn new software programs as needed Proficient in Microsoft Office Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible Team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies Ability to represent the institution well An advocate’s belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans Relevant qualifications: A current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in a related field, such as Business, Finance, Engineering, Public Administration, and/or Economics A willingness to learn Student must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement Preferred Education and Experience Experience in a start-up environment Experience in Investments or Venture Development Previous experience utilizing Airtable Benefits: Hybrid work schedule.
