About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Ventilator Patient Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage a defined caseload of ALS and/or pediatric ventilation patients, serving as the primary point of contact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring optimal ventilator care and patient education. In the State of MA this position pays between $45/hr. - $50/hr. depending on related experience plus bonus opportunity. Need for Western Territory: Plainfield, Royalston, Rutland, and Agawam

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care preferred; RN may be acceptable per state licensure laws.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred; RN considered based on state requirements.
  • Pediatric and/or ALS ventilation experience required.
  • Home respiratory care experience preferred; hospital experience acceptable.
  • Must hold a valid license in the primary state of practice and provide documentation.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in neighboring states if required.
  • Proficiency with ventilator software (e.g., Care Orchestrator, Astral).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Medical Equipment (HME).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet navigation.
  • Ability to lift and transport patient equipment as needed.
  • Compliance with respiratory protection and N95 mask fit testing per OSHA guidelines.
  • Annual recertification and adherence to infection control protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Home respiratory care experience preferred; hospital experience acceptable.
  • Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care preferred; RN may be acceptable per state licensure laws.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for ventilator patients and caregivers within your territory.
  • Perform patient assessments and provide education on ventilator use and care.
  • Set up and monitor highly technical respiratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all services and patient interactions per company policies.
  • Support orientation and training of new staff as directed by management.
  • Participate in on-call assignments and provide phone consultations during non-business hours.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensure requirements and maintain continuing education.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and clean workspaces.
