About The Position

A Skilled Nursing Facility in Orange, NJ is seeking an experienced Ventilator Nurse (RN or LPN) to join its dedicated ventilator unit. This is a full-time, permanent role requiring prior hands-on experience caring for ventilator- and tracheostomy-dependent residents. The selected nurse will provide direct respiratory-focused care within a structured SNF vent unit environment.

Requirements

• Active New Jersey RN or LPN license required
• Prior experience caring for ventilator and tracheostomy patients required
• Experience in SNF vent unit
• Strong respiratory assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to function independently within a structured clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ventilator- and tracheostomy-dependent residents
• Monitor ventilator settings, alarms, and respiratory status
• Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and airway management
• Assess residents for changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, tube feedings, and respiratory treatments
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and nursing leadership
• Ensure compliance with infection control and long-term care regulatory standards
