About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Vendor Threat Mitigation Analyst- Mission Support with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer in Falls Church, VA. The Vendor Threat Mitigation (VTM) Analyst provides expert-level support to the Vendor Threat Mitigation mission by detecting, assessing, and reporting on threats to the Defense Innovation Ecosystem (DIE). This role is critical to protecting the initiative to "Transform the Defense Innovation Ecosystem to Accelerate Warfighting Advantage." The analyst will provide robust, detailed analyses of adversarial threats to technology development, supply chains, vendors, and commercial partners. The position involves proposing mitigation strategies, and, when directed, implementing and analyzing the effectiveness of those mitigations. This work will be conducted at multiple security levels, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Classified Military Information (CMI) up to TOP SECRET.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI level security clearance and be willing to undergo a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Intelligence Studies, Security Studies, International Relations, Cybersecurity, or Supply Chain Management is typically required.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in counterintelligence, threat analysis, supply chain risk management, or a related intelligence field within a DoD or Intelligence Community component.
  • Demonstrated experience with all-source intelligence analysis, including research, evaluation, and integration of complex data.
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to locate, synthesize, and interpret large volumes of complex technical and all-source intelligence data to identify threats, patterns, and vulnerabilities.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM): Deep understanding of supply chain vulnerabilities, logistics, and the methods used by adversaries to exploit them. Knowledge of third-party risk management (TPRM) principles is essential.
  • Threat Mitigation: Knowledge of cybersecurity mitigation strategies, counterintelligence operations, and frameworks for protecting critical technologies and infrastructure.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce detailed analytical reports, assessments, and briefings for senior leadership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with intelligence community databases, analytical tools (such as network analysis and data visualization), and security frameworks (e.g., NIST).
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with interagency partners, law enforcement, and commercial entities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of federal and DoD policies, directives, and legal authorities related to counterintelligence, security, and acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive all-source analysis to identify and assess threats from foreign adversaries targeting U.S. technologies, supply chains, and defense industry partners.
  • Performs initial and recurring risk assessments of OUSW(R&E) vendors and commercial partners to uncover risks posed by competitors and adversaries.
  • Develops, proposes, and presents potential mitigation strategies to OUSW(R&E) leadership and Program Managers to counter identified threats.
  • Implements and monitors authorized mitigation tactics, analyzing their performance and effectiveness.
  • Researches and produces all-source counterintelligence analyses on the intent and capabilities of foreign intelligence services to exploit, sabotage, or disrupt critical supply chains.
  • Maintains and updates extensive intelligence databases, systems, and mechanisms for sharing relevant threat information.
  • Collaborates with other government agencies, law enforcement, and intelligence community members to share threat indicators and facilitate responsive actions.
  • Operates at both unclassified (CUI) and classified levels, up to and including TOP SECRET.
