About The Position

The Director of Vendor Relations will manage the communication, process improvement, and cost optimization across Vail Health clinical service lines. This role will work to coordinate efforts of both the clinical and supply chain teams, ensuring coordinated efforts, evaluation of opportunities, and providing communication to all stakeholders. He or she will work with internal and external parties to support the overall success of surgical and clinical areas keeping a focus on long-term financial sustainability paired with clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare supply chain operations, preferably in hospital or ASC settings.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and relevant regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise between vendors, clinical, surgical, surgeons, supply chain management, and finance teams.
  • Develop strategic initiatives with peri-operative leaders for long term sustainability as it relates to equipment, supplies, instruments, and implants necessary for clinical operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and reliable supply chains.
  • Evaluate opportunities for equipment, supply, instrument, and implant standardization. Implement agreed upon strategies.
  • Work with VH and ASC finance teams to identify and manage any discrepancies with cost analysis and reporting associated with equipment, supplies, instruments, implants, etc.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors to ensure the teams have the resources they need and to drive sustainability through cost containment, consolidation or other means.
  • Collaborate with biomed team on associated service contracts, support the development, implementation and management of a coordinated equipment and service contract approach.
  • Support Value Analysis Committee efforts including but not limited to; physician communication, financial analysis, comparison requests and alternative options, etc.
  • Participate in service line committees as needed.
