Onsite a few times to get lay of the land and then about every quarter as needed from there. Candidate needs to be local/ish to NJ (NJ, NY, PA). Commutable. Interviews will be after the holidays. Start Date: Mid-Late January. No 3rd Party/C2C/Sponsorship.  The Vendor Management Specialist (VMO Analyst) partners closely with BioMed and Clinical Engineering leadership to drive commercial governance, performance management, and contracting discipline across biomedical engineering, diagnostic imaging maintenance, and related OEM and third-party service agreements. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience operating in immature or evolving vendor management environments, helping establish structure, processes, and governance using enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and standardized VMO frameworks. The role blends contract lifecycle management, sourcing, analytics, and vendor performance oversight across a complex clinical technology portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (Business, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in vendor management, sourcing, contract management, or VMO roles, preferably within healthcare, clinical engineering, or regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience working with major Clinical Engineering and OEM vendors such as GE, Stryker, Philips, Siemens, Canon, or comparable providers
  • Experience operating in immature or evolving vendor management environments, helping establish governance, processes, and performance frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise platforms supporting vendor, contract, or service management
  • Strong understanding of commercial constructs including SLAs, KPIs, pricing models, and performance incentives
  • Commercial and analytical rigor
  • Strong contract and negotiation acumen
  • Ability to bring structure and discipline to ambiguous environments Executive-level communication and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large, multi-site health systems or integrated delivery networks (IDNs)

  • Experience partnering with IT, Purchasing, and Legal in complex sourcing environments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle for BioMed and Clinical Engineering vendors, including MSAs, SOWs, amendments, renewals, termination rights, and change controls
  • Coordinate negotiation strategies and commercial terms in partnership with Purchasing, Legal, and BioMed leadership
  • Ensure contracts align with defined operating models, coverage expectations, and service performance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary VMO interface to BioMed leadership to define service scope, operating model needs, and commercial strategies
  • Support insourcing vs. outsourcing analyses, vendor transitions, and phased implementation or sequencing plans
  • Partner with leadership to rationalize vendor portfolios across biomedical and diagnostic imaging services.
  • Lead and coordinate competitive sourcing events, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for BioMed, diagnostic imaging maintenance, and related service categories
  • Manage vendor down-selects, evaluation criteria, BAFO processes, and award recommendations in collaboration with Purchasing and IT leadership
  • Ensure sourcing decisions are data-driven, transparent, and aligned with operational and financial goals
  • Establish and monitor vendor performance management constructs, including SLAs, response times, uptime expectations, escalation protocols, and service credits
  • Track performance deviations and drive structured remediation plans in coordination with BioMed leadership and vendors
  • Support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and ongoing performance governance.
  • Provide analytical support for cost reduction initiatives, benchmarking, utilization-based optimization, and contract rationalization across the equipment service portfolio
  • Analyze spend trends, rate structures, service utilization, and value realization
  • Support business cases for vendor changes, renegotiations, and renewals
  • Maintain portfolio-level governance artifacts, including: Vendor profiles and segmentation Risk assessments Value realization trackers QBR and executive review materials
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and executive-ready reporting for vendor performance, financial stewardship, and risk posture.
  • Leverage ServiceNow and other enterprise tools to support vendor tracking, contract metadata, performance reporting, and issue management.
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment with IT, Cybersecurity, and operational stakeholders on connected medical device considerations, including cybersecurity requirements and system integrations
  • Provide lightweight training and enablement to BioMed leaders managing vendor relationships
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and negotiation readiness materials to improve consistency and maturity across vendor interactions
