Job Overview The Assistant, Vendor Collaboration supports the Vendor Collaboration office and its goals to enhance supplier performance. This role collaborates cross-functionally with supply chain and merchants to ensure the timely and efficient flow of merchandise through the combined vendor and Macy’s supply chain. They proactively research receipt flow issues and propose solutions. The role reports directly to the Director, Vendor Collaboration.

Requirements

  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with supply chain, merchants, and other departments to ensure efficient merchandise flow and enhance supplier performance
  • Communication: Practice open and continuous communication, keeping others informed and presenting information clearly and concisely
  • Leadership and Negotiation: Possess a strong leadership profile with excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions and drive initiatives forward
  • Cross-Functional Experience: Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally, particularly with a focus on merchandising, vendors, customers, stores, and finance
  • Insightful Analysis: Capability to develop insightful, value-added, and actionable analyses to drive decision-making and process improvements
  • Problem Recognition and Resolution: Strong ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly, contributing to the efficient operation of the Vendor Collaboration office
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 1-3 years or relevant experience
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
  • Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms
  • Requires close vision
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into causes of issues or concerns identified by merchants or vendors regarding Supply Chain service levels, and respond accordingly
  • Clearly articulate and support the implementation of new solutions or processes to merchants and vendors.
  • Conduct training sessions for merchants and vendors on standards and routing guides through seasonal meetings or touch points
  • Assist in organizing virtual summits with vendors to introduce new initiatives and review performance scorecards, as well as in scheduling management meetings with key vendor partners
  • Support the onboarding of new vendors and facilitate their adoption of routing guides and vendor standards
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Stores, Corporate Finance, and other partners on cross-functional initiatives such as RFID tagging and vendor expense offsets
  • Analyze inbound vendor performance and closely collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective measures
  • Support the development and integration of inbound vendor standards and associated KPIs
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
