What You Will Do: The Vendor Assist & Logistics Manager will support and manage shop assist suppliers. The Vendor Assist & Logistics Manager will apply problem-solving expertise and build efficient working relationships across the many P&W functional groups; Quality, Materials, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, MCL, ESA, Global Work Share and multiple suppliers. The Vendor Assist & Logistics Manager, will ensure an uninterrupted flow of parts to production while meeting specific quality, delivery, and contractual requirements. The Vendor Assist & Logistics Manager will be the main point of contact for the shop assist suppliers you manage, and will coordinate and lead actions pertaining to business continuity and improvement. Responsible for logistics of the packing, shipping, and receiving team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of experience in a manufacturing operations, supply chain, materials management, quality or related environment OR a Master's degree and 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing operations, supply chain, materials management, quality or related environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Delivery assurance and risk mitigation experience
  • CORE experience and analytical/metrics driven approach

Responsibilities

  • Supplier relationships: delivery and quality performance, business reviews, underperforming supplier reviews, customer satisfaction
  • Project Management: Lead supplier qualification efforts for multiple process nodes, stakeholder and supplier reviews
  • Delivery assurance: ownership of delivery commitment and execution, output support, risk mitigation, driving recovery plans with communication to internal customers, owning the recovery through Line of Balance (LOB) improvements
  • Planning: daily interactions with site materials management team and planner for each value assist operation to ensure material flow and setting priorities at the supplier
