About The Position

• Provides the used-vehicle sales department with a supply of marketable used vehicles within management's guidelines and purchasing policies and assists with used-vehicle department reconditioning as directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; type on a computer; and to talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and carry office supplies up to 20 pounds.
  • Employee will enter and exit cars and trucks varying in size and must be able to operate/drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Employee is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: driving a vehicle, preparing and emailing customer quotes; selecting color configurations; viewing a computer terminal and expansive reading.

Responsibilities

  • Discusses reconditioning with service and management team.
  • Monitors time to line and days in recon to get cars to front quickly.
  • Approves all paperwork from auctions and provides proper documentation to the office for purchases and wholesales.
  • Look at vehicles over 30 days to see why not selling. Make sure properly displayed and merchandised.
  • Notifies the used vehicle department manager of anticipated delivery of purchases.
  • Monitors pictures and descriptions of used cars on website and 3rd parties.
  • Analyzes sales history and local area trends to determine the best purchasing mix.
  • Tracks customer interest in vehicles not in stock (lost sales).
  • Keeps abreast of current market and current valuation of used vehicles.
  • Appraises vehicle trades along with the used-vehicle department manager.
  • Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding the used-vehicle industry.
  • Develops and maintains outside sources (wholesalers and retailers) for both buying and selling units.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Attends managers meetings as requested.
  • Assist with vehicle inventory at beginning of month to determine cars locations
