About The Position

Velocity Care is a dynamic, fast-paced urgent care system with seven regional sites located in southwest VA, delivering high-quality, acute care for patients of all ages. Our providers manage a broad range of conditions, from upper respiratory infections, minor fractures, lacerations and more. We offer a balanced mix of scheduled visits and walk-ins, ensuring variety in your practice. Clinics operate from 8 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week, with flexible scheduling options, including 12-, 10-, and 8-hour shifts. Providers work primarily at 2-3 local sites but are credentialed across the system, maximizing both convenience and staffing flexibility. Requirements

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program or Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Minimum of three 3 years of clinical experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Current PALS/NPR, as required, specific to position.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers.
Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier.
Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers.
Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
