About The Position

Performs maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of fleet vehicles, heavy and power‑operated equipment, compressed natural gas (CNG) systems, and shop and facility equipment, in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of experience as an ASE‑certified auto or truck mechanic OR technical school completion with two (2) years of ASE‑certified experience, including DOT vehicle service.
  • Ability to obtain within eight (8) months: CDL Class A or B DOT Medical Card Forklift qualification ASE T8 and G1 certifications (maintained thereafter) Required MD/VA safety and emissions certifications CDL holders subject to federal testing requirements.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of gasoline, diesel, and alternative‑fuel vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Service mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, braking, suspension, cooling, transmission, exhaust, PTO, and fuel systems, including CNG systems.
  • Conduct welding, fabrication, tire mounting and balancing, alignments, minor bodywork, and installation of mounted equipment (e.g., welders, compressors).
  • Perform state safety and emissions inspections, including MD and VA requirements.
  • Conduct field repairs and arrange towing of disabled vehicles or equipment as required.
  • Maintain shop tools, equipment, and facility assets.
  • Enter and retrieve work data using computerized maintenance systems.
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision and provide instruction to other employees as needed.
  • Perform related duties and administrative support assignments as required by operational needs.
