About The Position

Coordinates the daily workflow of the Vehicle Maintenance Department. Distributes maintenance and repair work to technicians based on skill levels and mountain needs. Works with Vehicle Maintenance Manager and Vehicle Maintenance Service Specialist to create goals and objectives. Maintains communication with Internal Customers and Outside Vendors. Trains technicians in safe work practices and helps to develop skill sets across the team. Performs Quality Checks on completed work.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • Must be of at least 25 years of age.
  • Minimum five years in the Vehicle Maintenance field or three years with a certificate of completion in an Automotive Diesel Technology school.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License Class B with P2 endorsement or ability to obtain within designated time frame.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Colorado Class B UST Operators License.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and expertise in the following areas: hydraulics, electrical, electrical over hydraulics, gas and diesel engine systems, computerized engine control systems, drive train, chassis, body repair, basic welding, fuel systems, air systems, and schematic drawings.
  • Experience in a Snowcat or tracked vehicle fleet preferred.
  • Experience in fleet operations preferred.
  • Ability to operate all types of fleet equipment in a safe manner.
  • Basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products and fleet CMMS.
  • Must possess toolbox and tools to perform major PMI’s and repairs. (excludes “specialty tools”)
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks at once in high pressure environments.
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Customer service experience in a vehicle or equipment setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Distributes work to technicians based on skill level and mountain needs.
  • Monitors job statuses during repairs and updates leadership with missed deadlines.
  • Receives vehicles and equipment from customers and verifies concerns.
  • Updates departments with current timelines of repairs based on parts availability, technician availability and mountain needs.
  • Performs PMI’s and resulting repairs in accordance with Powdr Copper Mountain’s Vehicle Maintenance guidelines and standards on fleet including trucks, vans, transportation equipment and snowcats.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify, and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles including, but not limited to, trucks, vans and snowcats.
  • Reads and interprets hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system schematics.
  • May perform minor welding/fabrication projects to include use of machine shop tools.
  • Be knowledgeable and proficient in these areas: Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, hydrostatic drive systems, and hydraulic systems Troubleshooting and repair of light truck and van computer systems, i.e. emissions, airbags, antilock brakes, etc.…
  • Communicates in a clear and respectful manner to train co-workers in all areas of maintenance and repair operations.
  • Assists in the training of Powdr Copper Mountain personnel in the operation of equipment, to include vehicle check out procedures and safe equipment use.
  • Inspects and operates all fleet equipment to verify repairs performed.
  • Responsible for accurate and precise recording of daily activities on work orders, indirect labor log and parts requisitions to be used for KPI and department objectives.
  • Consults manuals, trade publications, trade associations, vendors, fellow employees, outside schools and training programs in order to stay updated in new maintenance technologies to improve the efficiency and production of our operation.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of work areas in order to provide a safe environment.
  • Monitors department waste streams to ensure recycling and disposal of all products used in accordance with Powdr Copper Mountains guidelines.
  • Updates departments with current timelines of repairs based on parts availability, technician availability and mountain needs.
  • Works closely with warehousing to ensure accurate specifying of parts.
  • Monitors special order parts’ arrival dates and ensures timely installation of parts and returns made when necessary.
  • Partakes in the maintenance and repair of all shop equipment.
  • Audits special tools inventory and condition.
  • Responsible for management in one or more of the following areas: A) tires. B) paint and body, C) welding, D) fuel inventory, E) lube supplies/hazardous material, F) general shop equipment, and G) hydraulics.
  • All other duties as assigned.
