About The Position

The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic II will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines to include vehicles and heavy equipment. This position will require knowledge and ability to procure parts, preform light/medium mechanical repairs, and assist with housekeeping duties in the mountain shop.

Requirements

• Physical mobility to efficiently complete tasks; lifting objects weighing 30 to 75 pounds, working on/under/inside vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand appropriate materials and apply them.
• Ability to work safely inside, or outside in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to Town Run
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
• Ability to work on an "on call" basis, weekends, holidays and various shifts.
• Posses an insurable driving record.
• Ability to diagnose and repair defects associated with hydraulic, electrical, cooling, lubrication and power systems on a wide variety of vehicles/equipment.
• Ability to complete tasks involving welding and fabrication.
• Ability to diagnose and repair problems with small engines ie. snowmobiles, chainsaws, weed eaters, and mowers.
• Ability to work in a safe manner.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must provide all hand tools
• Valid Driver's License with three year MVD report

Responsibilities

• Safely work in the mountain shop assisting the mechanics or performing light to medium mechanical repairs on vehicles or equipment.
• Housekeeping duties of the vehicles and mountain shop.
• Efficiently drive ¾ to 1-ton type vehicles equipped with automatic or standard transmissions while procuring parts and supplies.
• Utilize proper practices relating to OSHA, USFS, or any other regulatory agency while overseeing day-to-day operations.
