What You Will Do: Provides transportation services to the elderly, physically handicapped, mentally handicapped and other population groups. Maintains a positive attitude in assisting clients using vehicle and assures the comfort and safety of all passengers. Responsible for the total up keep of the vehicle by providing preventative maintenance, making minor repairs and reporting all major malfunctions involving dealership repairs. Performs a variety of courier duties as assigned by Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers. Ensures that safety practices and procedures are followed when operating the Medical Center vehicle including the proper use of seat belts. Routinely completes preventative maintenance and repairs to the vehicle as needed. Monitors the proper operation of the vehicle reporting all major malfunctions of the vehicle to the Director, Environmental Services for dealership repairs. Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle by vacuuming, cleaning windows, and cleaning the inside to keep a professional image for the Medical Center. Routinely maintains daily, monthly and yearly logs on vehicle including pre‑inspection, maintenance, gasoline, passenger logs, licensed plates and insurance policies. Remains up to date on vehicle regulations by reviewing the Ohio Department of Transportation Manual. Completes daily safety checks of the vehicle: brakes, lights, doors, fluid levels, etc. as per safety check list. Maintains a professional image for the Medical Center by projecting a positive attitude with the guests, maintaining the appearance of the vehicle and consistently maintaining a safe driving record and obeying all Ohio Motor Vehicle laws. Carries a valid Ohio Driver's License and/or Ohio Chauffeur's License while on duty. Follows career apparel standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, and completion of current CPR, Red Cross, First Aid Training and Passenger Assistance Training (provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation.)
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
  • Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
  • Ability to maintain and project a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.
  • Ability to maintain orderly logs.
