About The Position

Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer - Senior supporting the Enterprise Level Information Technology Expertise (ELITE) contract in support of the United States European Command (USEUCOM) located at RAF Molesworth, UK. This position is required to travel OCONUS. PROGRAM SUMMARY: Are you interested in continuing your career in Europe in a mission focused environment? We are looking for an experienced, innovative and motivated VDI Engineer to support the enablement of USEUCOM’s mission objectives. REQUIRED CLEARANCE: •Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES As the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer, you will be responsible for: Maintaining Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD/XenA pp), StoreFront, and Provisioning Services (MCS/PVS). NetScaler/VPX Operations: Configure NetScaler appliances for load balancing, SSL offload, and secure remote access (Gateway). Working extensively with Xenserver and VM Resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity. Providing system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishing and maintaining security as it relates to users. Applying security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment. Developing and implementing technical standards (SOP, TTP, implementation instructions, other required documentation) and monitoring processes for information systems. Tier 3 Support: Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, performing deep root-cause analysis for critical incidents. Maintaining all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have: Expertise operating and maintaining Citrix infrastructure (PVS, DDC, StoreFront servers, etc.) systems as well as NetScaler (VPX) Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, upgrading, patching, and securing Microsoft Windows desktop environments in multiple Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments. Experience maintaining Microsoft Windows systems within DoD environments. Experience managing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment and/or preparing master Operating System images for deployment. Effective communication skills to work with colleagues to drive innovation and communicate capabilities to fellow team members, colleagues, management, and customer leadership.

Requirements

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must hold an active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • BA/BS and 3 years recent specialized, or AA/AS and 7 years recent specialized, or a major cert 7 years recent specialized, or 11 years of recent specialized experience with at least 3-5 years specializing in Citrix enterprise environments.
  • Must have current Citrix Certified Professional-Virtualization (CCP-V) certification or greater
  • Must have current CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)
  • Strong background / experience with Citrix & NetScaler
  • Demonstrated background troubleshooting complex IT issues
  • Knowledge of DoD IA/Cybersecurity and IT regulations and guidance

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation certification
  • Citrix Certified Expert-Virtualization (CCE-V) certification
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • NetScaler Expertise
  • Experience working as part of a team - remote
