Position Description Responsible for analysis, administration, and support of VMWare Horizon View VDI, thin clients, and other VDI –related technology.

Requirements

• Position requires a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field and five years of experience with VMWare, VDI Horizon View, or other desktop virtualization.
• Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
• Position requires strong customer service skills, an in-depth knowledge of modern end user hardware and software technology support, desktop virtualization, operating systems, and enterprise support methodology; ability to work independently, exercise good judgement, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people is a must; ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely fashion and to be flexible and thrive in a fast paced and active work environment are critical to this role.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of VMWare VCTA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with design and implementation of new infrastructure and technologies.
• Develop scripts to automate the monitoring of VDI environment.
• Responds to End user requests for technical support and assistance after escalation.
• Executes application virtualization using VMWare ThinApp, App Volumes, RDSH.
• Publishes desktop and individual applications via RDSH according to the department requirements in the organization.
• Provides trend analysis of VDI performance and incidents.
• Develop business continuity plans for VDI environment.
• Works cross-teams to deliver a high-performance virtual environment.
• Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.
