We are searching for an analytically minded, problem solving Mechanical Applications Engineer I to join our Vertical Dimensions team at Vantage Elevation. Requirements

  • An bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mathematics, or a related field with 2-4 years of direct experience is preferred; Sheet Metal drafting is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of Autodesk AutoCAD (or similar) knowledge required; SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional work ethic, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and interpret customer requirements and specifications.
  • Processing retrofitting projects that may require modification of company products and equipment.
  • Working with various departments such as Customer Service, Estimating, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure client specifications are met.
  • Problem solving and answering questions about the technical functionality of mechanical equipment.
  • Providing technical support for mechanical products.
  • Participating in information gathering calls and/or meetings with clients to determine the clients' needs, and desired outcomes. These meetings may involve job site visits, and surveying that may lead to job specific product development.
  • Presenting information and new ideas for review and possible implementation into new and existing reviews and understanding product design changes related to elevator control equipment.
