Job Summary and Qualifications Vascular Ultrasound Technologist - PRN/Per Diem Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist or Vascular Sonographer, you will perform advanced diagnostic vascular non-invasive technological exams, conduct and document ultrasound and/or vascular assessments on patients as ordered, performing these procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner and prioritizing patient care. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers or Sonographers
Current ARDMS registry for Ultrasound
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate hospital experience in an acute-care setting as an Ultrasound Tech (2+ years preferred)
Experience requirement waived for Vascular program graduates
Must meet hospital call-back requirements of 30 minutes
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

RDMS (Abdomen) and RVT, preferred
Must obtain RVT if not already held

Responsibilities

Perform general and vascular ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, small parts, peripheral vascular, carotid, TCD)
Perform appropriate evaluations of vascular morphology and physiology according to national standards
Assist the radiologist in ultrasound-guided procedures (i.e., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, aspiration)
Demonstrate concern and empathy while performing tests and procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner
Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures
Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and physicians regarding any and all findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate
Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team
