As a Vascular Technologist, you are responsible for performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound. You will operate ultrasound equipment to provide and document accurate and quality sonographic studies of normal and abnormal anatomy. You will perform ultrasound exams including Abdominal, OB, GYN, Small Parts, Prostates, and Vascular Scans. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and /or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is a 200+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women's services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility. Requirements

One year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer
A single two-year allied health education program that is patient-care related OR Graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA), that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credentials with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
BLS Certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy

Nice To Haves

One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist - preferred
Associates degree or higher in related technological field - preferred
Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), post- primary certification in Sonography - preferred
Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board - preferred

Responsibilities

identify upper/lower extremity venous anatomy, extra cranial and intracranial anatomy, upper/lower extremity arterial anatomy and collateral venous pathways in presence of disease
perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for DVT or Venous Insufficiency, Carotid Duplex exam protocol, protocol for upper/lower extremity arterial flow exam
produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric
relay to Radiologist any relevant patient information
complete required documentation on forms, logs and in computer
label images and identify according to protocol.
obtain all pertinent patient history, and relay it to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis or treatment
review written orders, assesses patient identification and ensures indicators are appropriate prior to procedure
clean exam tables and restock Ultrasound supplies as needed or used
sterilize trans-vaginal transducer according to established protocol
complete the charge processing for individual patient care items, drugs and exams
