Requirements

• M.D./D.O. with residency training in an approved ACGME Neurology program.
• Board eligible or certified in Neurology
• Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in Vascular Neurology (Stroke)
• Current New Mexico License required.

Responsibilities

• Works as a neurohospitalist/stroke neurologist in rotation with other members of the neurohospitalist/ stroke neurology team across the spectrum of care from ED to ICU to floor care to hospital discharge
• Collaborates with other specialties in the multidisciplinary care of neurology/stroke patients
• Participates in development and maintenance of clinical pathways in coordination with other specialties to provide highly reliable, high-quality care for stroke patients in alignment with certifying bodies requirements
• Participates in quality improvement work in stroke and neurology by determining key performance indicators, process metrics and outcomes measures
• Provides stroke-specific review of cases referred to the medical staff's peer review committee on an ad hoc basis
• Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and APCs on the neuroscience team (neurology, neurohospitalist, neurosurgery, neurointervention)
