About The Position

Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO) Position Summary The Vascular Surgeon provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with diseases of the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, operative and non-operative management of vascular conditions, and perioperative care, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program
Completion of an accredited vascular surgery fellowship or integrated vascular surgery residency
Board-eligible or board-certified in Vascular Surgery
Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
DEA registration or eligibility
Expertise in open and endovascular vascular surgical techniques
Strong clinical judgment and operative decision-making skills
Ability to manage complex and high-risk surgical patients
Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease, aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, venous disorders, and dialysis access needs
Perform open and endovascular vascular surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges
Provide non-operative management of vascular conditions, including medical therapy and surveillance
Manage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and long-term follow-up
Participate in emergency and on-call coverage for vascular surgery services
Interpret diagnostic studies including vascular ultrasound, CT angiography, MR angiography, and angiography
Collaborate with cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, wound care, primary care, and other specialties
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes
Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and care planning meetings
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and trainees as applicable
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
