The Varsity Sports Camp- Assistant Director is responsible for the supervision of camp staff and operation of the assigned camp including the programming and supervision of camp participants. Responsible for providing a safe, organized, age-appropriate camp experience for the participants enrolled in the program. Essential Duties Required to attend training sessions before camp begins as well as scheduled training sessions and meetings during the camp season. May be responsible for leading training sessions and holding regular staff meetings. Assists with the supervision of camp staff and camp leaders. Responsible for asisting the varsity camp directror in the preparation of weekly schedules, leadership of daily activities and maintenance of all necessary camp supplies and equipment. Assist in planning age appropriate activities for campers relevant to the focus of the camp.May be required to lead groups of campers in activities and games depending on the staffing needs of the camp. Assures the safety of all campers by monitoring all camp activities throughout the program. Responsible for alerting the camp director of any unsafe or suspicious situations that may arise, which may include taking immediate appropriate action to ensure the safety of program participants. Assures that the camp site, including the shelter is left in a clean and orderly condition at the conclusion of the camp day. Must be available to work the entire camp session(s). Responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports. Responsible for adhering to and maintaining ACA accreditation standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional duties: Must exercise strong communication and organizational skills. Position requires travel to various district facilities, park camp sites, meetings and trainings. Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities and safety procedures outlined in the District's Safety Manual, and overall risk management program. Candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with staff, adults and parents. This job falls in paygrade PT5. The target hiring range for this position is $18 - $21.5 depending on qualifications.
