This position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The coach will adhere to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, model nondiscriminatory practices, and assume complete responsibility for the conduct of their team and the philosophy and teachings of the entire athletic program. Key duties include being available for contests and practices Monday through Saturday and some holidays, supervising equipment and supplies, submitting requests to the Athletic Director, establishing positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, and community members, and attending various meetings. The coach will also conduct organizational meetings for athletes, prepare and submit schedules, follow injury procedures, report scores, notify staff of cancellations, supervise team members after activities, and complete end-of-season reports. Compliance with all relevant policies and regulations is required. The coach will assess player skills, monitor performance, model sports-like behavior, maintain appropriate conduct, and participate in special activities. Additional tasks include distributing and maintaining eligibility forms and emergency data cards, and attending staff development meetings and clinics to improve coaching performance.
