About The Position

Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through 12 regionally-accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling close to 650 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second-largest metropolitan area. The school is affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA), but the student body and faculty include members from more than 90 different local churches of various denominations. We are interested in receiving applications from Christian school educators who view their calling as teaching and discipling students for the advancement of God’s kingdom as we equip students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ. Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Backs & Special Teams) Athletic Department – Westminster Schools of Augusta 2026 Football Season Position Overview The Assistant Football Coach position exists to coach and mentor Westminster students who choose to participate in the football program. This is a paid position for the 2026 football season and may be combined with a current teaching or administrative role, depending on the candidate’s experience and gifting. If a teaching position is unavailable, or if the applicant is employed outside the field of education, qualified community coaches will be considered.

  • Demonstrates exemplary Christian character and conduct
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior football coaching experience
  • Experience mentoring and discipling student-athletes
  • Ability to effectively relate to and engage high school student-athletes
  • Strong communication skills with parents, coaches, and athletic staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented athletic department

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Athletic Department in the organization and development of program staff
  • Plan, develop, and implement daily practices
  • Scout upcoming opponents and assist with game plan implementation
  • Intentionally develop athletes’ faith, Christian character, and leadership
  • Help student-athletes develop their God-given abilities to their fullest potential
  • Serve as a positive Christian role model for all student-athletes
  • Conduct film breakdown and game analysis
  • Assist with management of the program budget
  • Know, understand, and ensure compliance with GISA rules and regulations
  • Complete all administrative responsibilities necessary for the advancement of the program
  • Partner effectively with parents in support of student-athletes
  • Assist athletes and families with the college recruiting process when applicable
  • Advise athletes on the proper use and care of football equipment
  • Champion Westminster culture and the “Wildcat Way”
  • Serve as an active and contributing member of the Westminster community
  • Maintain a presence at Westminster events and functions as requested by the Athletic Department
