About The Position

Are you a Lean-driven leader who thrives on transforming manufacturing performance from the inside out? We're looking for a Value Stream Optimization Manager to own end-to-end continuous improvement across our automotive manufacturing operations. In this high-impact role, you'll partner directly with plant leadership to design and execute structured improvement initiatives that move the needle on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory (SQDCI). Working within an IATF 16949-certified environment, you'll apply Lean principles, automotive core tools, and data-driven methodologies to eliminate waste, stabilize processes, and drive sustainable operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
  • 5–7+ years of continuous improvement, operational excellence, or Lean leadership experience within automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and automotive core tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success delivering measurable improvements in OEE, scrap reduction, lead time, productivity, and cost savings.
  • Experience facilitating structured problem-solving methodologies such as A3, 8D, DMAIC, and other root cause analyses.
  • Ability to influence and drive change without direct authority over production teams.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience leveraging operational KPIs to guide decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting new product launches within an APQP framework.
  • Experience improving Daily Management Systems (DMS) and visual performance tracking.
  • Exposure to customer audits and continuous improvement expectations within a Tier 1 or OEM automotive environment.
  • ERP system experience within a manufacturing setting (e.g., SAP, Plex, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and map current value streams to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for end-to-end optimization.
  • Develop and implement strategies that drive measurable improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Lead enterprise-level value stream optimization initiatives across production and support functions.
  • Identify, quantify, and deliver validated cost savings in partnership with Finance.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and structured problem-solving initiatives utilizing A3, 8D, DMAIC, and other root cause methodologies.
  • Establish and sustain visual management systems and performance dashboards to enhance accountability and transparency.
  • Coach leaders in Lean principles, Daily Management Systems (DMS), and disciplined problem-solving practices.
  • Ensure standardization and sustainment of improvements through documented standard work and audit mechanisms.
  • Lead change management efforts to drive adoption and cultural integration of continuous improvement practices.
  • Serve as the site authority on Lean systems and continuous improvement standards.
