About The Position

As a Value Creation Manager, you’ll focus on high-impact, short-term engagements with our private equity, PE-backed companies, hedge funds, and investment banking clients across industries including software/technology, healthcare, business services, consumer, industrials, and the events ecosystem. You will work with experienced professionals who bring a full range of advisory services to validate, optimize and create value for the Grant Thornton | Stax Transactions - all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with strategy consulting, strategic planning/corporate strategy group, or private equity/venture capital firm required.
  • Industry recognized professional certification required.
  • Proven experience across a range of value creation areas including growth strategy, performance improvement and/or merger integration.
  • Strong critical thinking, ability to develop and apply strategic frameworks and practice methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing various types of analysis including qualitative and quantitative research, secondary research, web surveys, market sizing, forecasting growth, and regression.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage consulting projects from nuts to bolts including planning and managing multiple and differing work streams within tight timelines.
  • Proven written, verbal and presentation skills that demonstrate the ability to frame ideas that capture the appropriate level of detail, while conveying the “big picture” message and structuring of output logically.
  • Proven knowledge of analytical skills needed to execute project work and demonstrated proficiency in advanced MS Excel.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a focus on building inclusive experiences, mentoring, and team development.
  • Detail oriented, self-starter with an intellectual curiosity and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Can travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in scoping projects, framing issues, and structuring approaches for clients.
  • Manage day-to-day engagement execution, lead teams of consultants, and maintain direct client interaction.
  • Identify value creation opportunities, shape implementation plans, and support successful long-term execution.
  • Lead and deliver complex client engagements; drive insights and ensure the quality and success of final deliverables.
  • accountable for preparing and delivering presentation of findings and conclusions to clients.
  • Gain exposure to diverse client engagements across a broad range of industries.
  • Maintain high visibility with client leadership through meaningful interaction and impact.
  • Own projects while collaborating closely with accessible senior leadership.
  • Receive both formal and on-the-job mentorship to support long-term career growth.
  • Meeting or exceeding targeted billing hours (utilization).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Seasonal employees may also be eligible to participate in the firm’s 401(k) savings plan and employee retirement plan in accordance with applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. Seasonal employees receive a minimum of 72 hours of paid sick leave.
  • Grant Thornton employees may be eligible for a discretionary, annual bonus based on individual and firm performance, subject to the terms, conditions and eligibility criteria of the applicable bonus plan or program. Interns and seasonal employees are not eligible for bonus compensation.
