As a Value Chain Engineer, you will work at the forefront of technology, driving material cost optimization, unlocking commercial opportunities, and mitigating risk across the value chain. Our team is seeking a passionate and talented Value Chain Engineer to drive material cost optimization efforts across the organization. Our work touches millions of people across the globe and our efforts instantaneously impact General Motors’ bottom line. You will collaborate closely with partners across Supply Base, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing and other business stakeholders to develop strategies to optimize material cost. The Value Chain Engineer is a highly skilled individual with expertise in Business, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing Optimization, responsible for driving organizational and cultural changes in how we work with our suppliers to achieve key program imperatives for our current and next generation vehicles. The role requires analysis of the issues, development of strategy and obtaining cross functional alignment. Work involves functioning as liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, PPCO, Finance, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and suppliers to drive material cost optimization. Considerable initiative, attention to detail and independent judgement is required as well as the ability to work cross functionally and with various levels of management.
