About The Position

Summary (Position Description): The Designer/Drafter will have an instrumental role in helping BITZER US further develop its line of Ammonia Compressor Packages. We are looking for a Designer-Drafter with SolidWorks experience who thrives in a fast-paced team environment with a desire to see drawings come to life. The Candidate will join the Value-Add team and work with Project and Design Engineers to design and draft refrigeration piping and components for Industrial Refrigeration Compressor Packages. The Candidate will be required to communicate with various manufacturing teams through the fabrication process.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience creating 3D CAD models using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Experienced with managing drawing revision through SolidWorks EPDM or similar CAD software and using an ECO process
• Experience communicating with production teams and resolving problems on the shop floor
• Creative with good problem-solving ability
• Self-motivated
• Good team player
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• Familiar with ASME Design Codes and ANSI Standards
• Effective communication and spearheading issues that arise.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Engineers to create 3D models, submittals, and assembly drawings for value-add packages using SolidWorks
• Generating production drawing packages to be utilized by our manufacturing plant for product fabrication including mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Review and verify assembly and part drawings are correct to design specifications, codes, and other regulations
• Build full assembly models and draw packages from existing libraries using configurations and design tables including control of parts and assemblies.
• Update existing drawings as needed by the EC process, engineering, production team or customer’s specification
• Working with CAD software to ensure all models and drawings are saved into the database.
• Preparing part and assembly drawings and bill of material (BOM). Export PDF/DXF/DWG as required for internal and external vendors.
• Communicate with various manufacturing teams to address and resolve questions or errors in drawings/3D models.
