About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Primary Duties Promotes, leads, and adheres to a culture of safety awareness in compliance with the company’s safety policies. Works directly with Engineering and Maintenance team to produce/update various engineering drawings. Perform regular field audits to ensure accuracy of plant drawings. Creates piping plans, develops 2-D and/or 3-D piping layout drawings and corresponding isometric drawings. Prepares P&IDs, equipment and general layout arrangements in AutoCAD. Revises existing drawings using AutoCAD from marked up drawings or sketches. Assist the Maintenance Department and project teams in various projects phases from scope development through completion. Contacts vendors to collect part specifications and cut sheets on Production and Maintenance equipment. Maintain accurate equipment, location lists, BOM’s, and pictures of assets in the CMMS database. Organize database of drawings and other technical documentation (Manuals/BOM’s) and link to CMMS. Supervisory Responsibilities There will be no direct reports associated with this position. Some tasks may require coordination and supervision of contractors. Work Schedule Normally 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Typical starting time is 7:00 am.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of drafting principles
  • Ability to read and develop technical drawings
  • Ability to access all areas of facility to include work at heights and in tight spaces.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, time sensitive and possess a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in various AutoCAD softwares
  • Ability to create and maintain electrical schematics
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Associate Degree in drafting, or related program, and a minimum of two to five (5) years related experience in an industrial facility.
  • The employee must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Also required is the ability to write routine correspondence, as well as being able to communicate and speak effectively before groups of vendors, customers, contractors or employees of the organization.
  • employees are regularly required to use a computer, but also to stand, walk, and use hands feel, handle and reach.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Individual must have the ability to communicate with other plant employees and contractors.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to proficiently produce 3-D piping drawings preferred
  • Experience with food/beverage industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Project management experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking Spanish or French is preferred, but not required.
