About The Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB •Provides accurate and reliable statistical real estate market data to C&W’s V&A National Data Center valuation practice group. •Provides an advanced level of research support to ensure data integrity. •Provides internal and external clientele with statistical information on the international, national and local data center trends and markets. •Collaboratively enhance the team’s brand recognition and client reach to assist in creating more opportunities for revenue growth. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES With direction from V&A’s Executive Managing Director/National Data Center Lead this person is responsible for all information and materials for the data center niche asset class on an asset level, local, national and international level. Research and write national and regional market reports, as well as maintain the data center comparable data base in support of data center advisory and valuation assignments. Interact with and directly work with Appraisers in the preparation of advisory and valuation services. Assist in the development of a proprietary comparable data base for data center lease, sale, rate of return, construction costs and return on cost that will be interrogated into the advisory and valuation reports. Assist in the quality control of data, products and services provided by the V&A National Data Center team. Train and orient core business units and administrative assistants on Research products, databases and services Identify new market trends and create though pieces in tandem with senior members of the data center team. Leverage the company’s extensive reach and knowledge by routinely engaging with C&W’s national and international research teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of research-related experience required within the real estate and/or data center industry
  • Experience synthesizing data and identifying trends within the data to provide clients
  • Writing and analytical experience required
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills – can simplify complexity and articulate “why it matters.”
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on assigned projects
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to interact with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to efficiently perform tasks and demonstrate a high level of proficiency in all related software
  • Excellent understanding of statistical calculations involved in correctly reporting vacancy rates, absorption, construction, rental rates, leasing, sales activity, renovation and proposed activity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience production insights for marketing initiatives such as reports, newsletters and social media content
  • Strong project and workflow management skills with the ability to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience and comfortability engaging directly with clients, owners, investors and/or other market participants.
  • Experience creating presentations and/or visual data pieces using Microsoft applications.
