About The Position

Candescent is hiring a UX/UI Designer for the Experience Group. In this role, you will design the underlying platform logic that powers seamless customer experiences across web and mobile. Your work focuses on system‑level UX—configuring feature behavior, mapping state transitions, defining workflow orchestration, and ensuring that complex, multi‑step journeys function reliably across channels. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys solving complex workflow challenges, thinking in systems and states, and working with an engineering-oriented mindset to build reliable, scalable platform experiences.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven UX/UI design experience across platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing demonstrable UX/UI design skills
  • Experience designing complex UX/UI back-end system
  • Preferably has designed for front and back-end to visualize how to translate UI requirements into back-end implementation
  • Has experience with accessibility standards and requirements
  • Comfortable connecting with teammates in other time zones (mainly India)
  • At least 5+ years of experience in relevant fields
  • Someone who enjoys solving complex workflow problems and creating efficient workflow patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Work on platform capabilities that sit behind the customer experience configuration logic, state management, workflow orchestration, and internal-facing system components that enable consumer journeys to function seamlessly across web and mobile.
  • Help design the system logic that powers our brand-new mobile app experience.
  • Define how features are configured, activated, and dynamically displayed as financial institutions transition from legacy experiences to modern ones.
  • Design multi-step workflows with conditional logic, map state transitions, and ensure UI behavior aligns with backend feature configurations and business rules.
  • Define how components behave when enabled, disabled, partially configured, or in pilot states — ensuring consistency across web and mobile while meeting accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to translate product requirements into scalable, backend-aligned UX patterns and help establish reusable workflow structures that reduce ambiguity and improve system efficiency.
