About The Position

Role As a User Experience Research Student Intern, you’ll work with your mentors to plan, execute, and deliver user research that enables the team of designers, product managers, and engineers to understand user needs. You’ll conduct primary and secondary research utilizing methods, such as literature reviews, interviews, and usability tests. You’ll work with cross-functional stakeholders to design a study that will have a direct impact on our product development. You’ll ultimately help us create useful, usable, and delightful user experiences on our platform. How your work moves the mission forward Work with mentors and cross functional partners to design a multi-phase study that will enable us to better understand a segment of our target user population. Conduct smaller tactical studies, such as a concept evaluation or usability test. Help facilitate workshops and design sprints with cross functional partners. Encourage and advocate for change by highlighting research findings with actionable insights to diverse audiences through written reports, in-person presentations, and hands-on collaboration. Ensure the team understands and addresses real, compelling pain points, and solutions to feel more intuitive, accessible, easy—and even magical.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Psychology or a related field.
  • Proficient in core qualitative UX research methods, such as interviews, field studies, and usability tests.
  • Proficient in qualitative data analysis techniques, such as content and thematic analysis.
  • Excellent communicator with experience sharing research insights in an engaging way.
  • Portfolio of research experience that demonstrates your ability to garner meaningful insights from user data and make impactful recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience or degree in a technical field, such as computer science, mechanical engineering, or robotics.
