About The Position

WWT is seeking a Network Engineer who will serve on a team of technical Engineers in support of multiple government programs. Candidates will be involved in the planning, design, development, implementation, and technical support of multi-platform, multi-system networks that includes requirements analysis and optimizing network performance. The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Marine Corps.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with 1-2 years of hands on experience working with the technologies listed above.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret U.S. government security clearance.
  • Deep understanding of various technologies including Layer 2 Switching, VLANs, Trunking, Switch configuration, hardening, and troubleshooting, Layer 3 Routing, VPN Technologies, Aruba VIA, Cisco Secure Client, IPSec Point to Multipoint, VMWare vSphere and ESXi, Firewall Systems, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba
  • Deep understanding of TCP/UDP transport technologies and general port allocations.
  • Understand the architecture of the virtual environment and make recommendations and changes that will provide enhancements.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CISSP certifications preferred
  • TS Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for various projects to meet goals and timelines.
  • Design technical solutions to address project requirements.
  • Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • Troubleshoots highly complex system hardware and software issues.
  • Develops training materials for end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Conducts advanced hardware and software audits of the system to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develops performance and security plans for computers that meet the needs of network users.
  • Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies.
