Utility Workers perform and assist with manual labor work in any of our operating districts throughout the Central Hudson service territory. The Utility Worker position is an individual contributor role and is considered a feeder position for our various union positions such as power line technician, gas mechanic, electrician, etc. What does a Utility Worker do? Under general supervision and as assigned, assists employees of all classifications in the performance of their work and performs manual and laboring work such as but not limited to: Handling material, tools and equipment Loading and unloading trucks Driving cars and trucks Cutting grass and brush Cutting ice and shoveling snow Sweeping and cleaning Raking racks, scraping paint, digging, trenching, backfilling, shoveling, lifting, carrying, etc. Operating equipment not specifically limited to operation by higher classified employees
