Summary Keeps working areas in production, office and laboratory departments of industrial establishment in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • English literacy (speak, read, and write English)
  • Basic math skills; mechanical aptitude
  • Must complete all required cGMP and EH&S Training Curriculum to include additional training in accordance to federal and state standards
  • May be required to train new Utility personnel or temporary employees on department processes
  • Must attend all department training sessions/meetings
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers, Management and support departments on a daily basis
  • Position requires the ability to walk, stoop, kneel, bend over, reach, twist and manipulate objects repetitively while standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs following the company's safety policy
  • Occasionally may require to lift >50 lbs using assistance and following the company's safety policy
  • Excellent eyesight and general physical health is required
  • Ability to physically respond quickly to developments in the production facility

Nice To Haves

  • One year of work experience in janitorial services, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, performs a variety of janitorial duties in cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of Company buildings and facilities following communication of Utility Lead and written instructions from approved SOP’s and cleaning procedures.
  • Duties include cleaning floors, fixtures, equipment, washrooms, bathrooms, etc.; vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash, and related activities within the production or office areas.
  • Transports products or cleaning supplies between departments or buildings
  • Operate floor scrubber/s
  • Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, kitchens/lunchrooms, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas as assigned
  • Wash and sanitize floors; dry process drums, totes & pallets
  • Clean rigs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies\
  • Clean and maintain perimeter of building/s in order to include trash compactors
  • Operate laundry facilities
  • Dust furniture and non-manufacturing areas
  • Operate floor scrubbing machines
  • Wash walls, ceilings and floors
  • Wash windows, door panels and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
  • Operate forklifts & pallet jacks to transport materials within & between the plants
  • Safely operates hand and power tools used in job (mops, vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors).
  • Inventories and restocks supplies.
  • Follows all environmental health and safety procedures in using and disposing of cleaning chemicals or hazardous materials.
