About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at an independent school located in the heart of Northwest Washington, DC. Must be able to work as follows: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-3:30 pm Day Time Hours Full Time Free Meals Uniforms Provided $18.00 PH What the Utility Steward/Dishwasher will do: Set up and operate dish-machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately Transport related supplies and assist in setup of dining and serving areas Clean dining and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption Setup and use three - compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, to include sweeping, mopping floors and removal of trash Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices Other duties, as assigned What the Utility Steward/Dishwasher will need: Must be able to pass an FBI background check Previous utility/dishwasher experience required Ability to measure products and convert units of measure Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning; work with sanitizing and cleaning chemicals Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment Good communication skills and a great attitude What the Utility Steward/Dishwasher will get: Competitive Pay, Uniforms, Meals, Training, Mentorship, and Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, etc.) Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement. Requirements

Must be able to pass an FBI background check
Previous utility/dishwasher experience required
Ability to measure products and convert units of measure
Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning; work with sanitizing and cleaning chemicals
