About The Position

Grip-Tite Manufacturing is a trusted, American-made leader in earth-anchoring products with over 100 years of innovation. Our Utility division specializes in high-performance guy wire anchors, forged anchor rods, Power-Grip Hub Anchor systems, and related solutions that secure transmission and distribution lines against high winds, ice storms, and extreme conditions. We’re experiencing rapid growth in the electric utility market and are building a high-performing team to accelerate market share across the US. We’re seeking a proven, results-driven Utility Sales Director to build and lead our utility sales organization from the ground up. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you’ll create the strategy, build the team (managing manufacturers’ reps and direct sales professionals), develop tactics, and drive aggressive growth in sales and margins for our guy wire anchor products nationwide. This is a high-growth, high-accountability role with commensurate compensation for top performers who deliver results.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of direct sales experience in the US electricity utility market (electric transmission/distribution, pole line hardware, anchoring/guying solutions preferred).
  • Proven sales leadership experience, including building and managing teams of manufacturers’ reps and direct sales reps.
  • Strong, established relationships and networks with utility distributors—critical for success.
  • Track record of growing sales revenue and margins in a competitive B2B environment.
  • Experience creating and executing strategies with budgets, achieving results on time and within budget.
  • Results-driven mindset with a history of exceeding high expectations.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial leadership environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing personal networks in the utility sector (distributors, utilities, contractors).
  • Knowledge of guy wire anchors, earth anchors, or pole line hardware products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, including annual budgets, forecasts, and go-to-market plans for guy wire anchors and related utility products.
  • Build, lead, and manage a high-performing sales team consisting of manufacturers’ representatives and direct sales professionals.
  • Leverage and expand existing relationships with utility distributors, electric utilities (IOUs, co-ops, munis), and key stakeholders in the US electricity utility market.
  • Drive new business development, account penetration, and revenue growth while protecting and improving margins.
  • Travel substantially (50%+ expected) to meet customers, attend industry events, and support field sales efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with a dynamic leadership team to align sales efforts with company goals and product innovation.
  • Track performance metrics, hold the team accountable to high expectations, and ensure execution within budget.
  • Identify market opportunities, competitive positioning, and strategies to capture share in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
