Job Description Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements ; Perform cleanup duties ; Perform material handling and storage duties ; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools ; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment ; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics ; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware ; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks ; Understands the various types and function of gears, the components and characteristics of gearbox setups, problems with gears and gear boxes, and gearbox overhaul, including checks and measurements of end play, backlash, tooth contact, and shaft run out ; Understands the operation, components, routine maintenance, and overhaul of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors ; Understands the types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings ; Understands the parts, function, maintenance, and troubleshooting of typical motor operators, including how gears work and the parts, operation, replacement and adjustment of rotary drum limit switches and torque switches ; Understands the types, basic operation, troubleshooting, and overhaul of reciprocating and rotary positive displacement pumps and single and multistage centrifugal pumps ; Understands pipe sizing and materials of construction, pipe storage and handling, characteristics of pipe joints and fittings, and how to measure pipe length, cut, and thread pipe ; Inspects gears and gear units for lubrication problems and bearing failure ; Installs and removes gears ; Checks and adjusts end play, backlash, shaft run out, and tooth contact in gearboxes ; Disassembles, checks, and reassembles centrifugal and reciprocating compressors ; Removes, cleans, inspects, lubricates, and installs various types of bearings ; Disassembles, inspects, and reassembles positive displacement and centrifugal pumps ; Maintains and troubleshoots problems on motor driven valve operators ; Performs complex diagnostics, repairs, calibrations, modifications and routine service on a wide variety of facilities and building equipment, systems, structures and hardware, including air handlers, domestic water, chilled water, hot water, steam, humidification, building exhaust, compressed air, controls, lighting, electrical, security systems, fire systems, etc. ; Completes preventive maintenance (PMs) and client and proactive work orders. ; Implements standard trade practices and procedures (using appropriate safety precautions) for routine maintenance. Produces workmanship commensurate with journeyman level in the following trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, welding or electronics. ; Provides technical assistance to junior staff. ; Performs general housekeeping duties in the work areas and shop. ; Complies with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.
